Updated: Jun 16, 2020

Originally summarized on Twitter.

One In An ARMY is extremely proud to announce the results of our May 2019 campaign, Purple Railroad, benefiting the International Railroad for Queer Refugees!

International Railroad for Queer Refugees (IRQR)'s mission is to relieve poverty for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual (LGBT) refugees living in Turkey by providing the basic necessities of life; and to relieve poverty by sponsoring, providing financial and resettlement assistance to LGBT refugees in Turkey who have fled because of persecution for their sexual orientation or gender identification and, as victims of human rights abuses; and to undertake activities ancillary and incidental to the attainment of the above charitable purpose.

Through the month of May, ARMY from 22 countries donated to $1,574.71 – enough to cover the cost of one year's worth of basic food for a refugee!

As always, One In An ARMY provided a non-monetary Bonus Mission for the month – Purple Railroad Letters. Written in Arabic, Kurdish, Pashto, Dari, Persian, and English, ARMY wrote words of encouragement and love to the refugees in IRQR's programs.

But that's not all; because the month-long celebration of Ramadan also fell in May! OIAA brought back the Eat Jin Challenge on Share The Meal and turned it into the ARMYxRamadanChallenge. ARMY donated 7,739 meals during May 2019, bringing the total team score to 29,313 meals donated!

As always, our friends at IRQR sent a letter to BTS via Big Hit Entertainment to let them know everything ARMY accomplished during the month.

Thank you, ARMY for once again coming together and changing the life of someone in need!
