One In An ARMY is extremely proud to announce the results of our June 2021 campaign, Break the Silence with JK, benefiting Usikimye in honour of Jungkook's birthday!
Usikimye is an organization working towards ending the prevalence of sexual and gender-based violence. They exist to ensure that women and girls from Kenya and its environs are safe and free from violence, exploitation, neglect, and abuse and have safe access to high-quality comprehensive responses that are appropriate to their individual needs, vulnerabilities, capacities while at the same time, age and gender-sensitive.
For this flash campaign 1126+ ARMY raised $26,481! This will help Usikimye distribute sanitary products, keep their rescue hotline open, keep their 5 safe houses open, and provide a meal a day for 1000s of children for the rest of 2021!
Our friends at Usikimye have sent a letter to BTS and Big Hit to let them know about how much ARMY helped this month. They also wrote a letter to ARMY!
But that's not all. While ARMY were helping Usikimye create a safe physical and emotional environment for women and girls in Kenya, they also worked hard to create a safe emotional environment for people in their own communities. The Bonus Mission for Jungkook and Namjoon's flash campaigns, Artmys for Healing, encouraged ARMY to create art with encouraging messages.
As always, ARMY took the initial prompt and created amazing works of art!
